Here are a variety of photos taken over the past few weeks, including the manicured marina grounds and a sunset, Bill aboard Vision, one of our friends’ sailboats (a Tayana 48'), lunch in town (under the red umbrella), and a tour of the infamous “Jardines de la Rivera”, which was a 1930’s casino frequented by Al Capon and many celebrities (see plaque).
The casino
is now being used as a cultural center, and I took quite a few photos of the
gardens and the beautiful, ornate ceilings.
Truth be
told, the buildings' interiors are in significant disrepair. Even so, it is easy to imagine this “swinging”
casino, south of the border, in the era of Prohibition.
